Outside Trebon the path goes along the top of an earth dam, part of a complex of dams and ponds built in the 16th century.

Leaving Trebon, we took a forest path and had to carry our bikes across bridge Ellen is standing on. It is made of two small poles and a handrail!


Looking across the Czech/Austrian border between Slavonice and Vranov nad Dyji.


We stayed at the Country Saloon Hotel in Vranov.


Vranov nad Dyji castle sits high on the rocky hill, and the town is below it along the river.
