Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour

Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Pereslavl, built in 1152, one of the oldest buildings in Russia. The bust is of Alexander Nevsky, a Russian hero who resisted German Crusaders and Swedish invaders, defeating the Swedes on the Neva River near the present St. Petersburg, in 1240, thus earning his name..
