Portugal - Ron and Ellen together, 19 September - 23 October 2013
We spent a week in Lisbon, then rented a car and explored some (but definitely not all) of the rest of Portugal.

Southeastern Africa - Ron on his own, 23 October 2013 - 13 January 2014
On 23 October, Ron flew from Lisbon to Amsterdam to Nairobi, Kenya. He plans to travel through Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi. From Burundi he hppes to catch the legendary African Queen going south on Lake Tanzania to Tanzania close to Zambia, where he would get a bus to Malawi. From there to Victoria Falls on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe near Botswana. He plans to go back to Nairobi up the coast through parts of Mozambique, Tanzania, and Kenya. In theory he is doing all this before he flies home from Nairobi on 13 January.
