Before beginning construction, we wanted to move shrubbery that was currently sitting in the footprint of the addition. Here is the area along the driveway where we created a new bed to which the shrubbery was moved. This photo was taken after our visiting French friends helped cut down a bamboo forest that was there -- here just a few stalks of bamboo remain.

After moving shrubbery and mulching. We moved three big viburnums, some spirea, a blueberry bush, and some creeping juniper. Yes, the shed is falling down, and will be removed later.

The front porch is gone, except for the floor, which they used as a base for the scaffolding while removing the chimney.
